The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is pleased to announce that Blandine Fauvel, PhD student at its "Environmental Research and Innovation" (ERIN) department, has been awarded with the high-school students prize of the regional Lorraine final of the competition "Ma Thèse en 180 secondes" (My thesis explained in 180 seconds) organised throughout France by CNRS and CPU (Conférence des présidents d'université).

The competitors are invited to meet the challenge of explaining their research work of several years in 3 minutes to a non initiated public. Not an easy challenge... The competition invites so young researchers to develop their communication skills. These skills are today essential to convince funders to invest in one's research project, to inform the general public about the results of the project, etc.

Blandine Fauvels' thesis is about viral particles' transport and fate in urbanizing watersheds and the influence of viral and hydro-climatic conditions.

Congratulations to the award winner!
