LIST researcher wins award for paper on cooperative public transport at 2015 ITS World Congress

We are pleased to announce that Marcin Seredynski, a researcher at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), was one of the co-recipients of Best Technical Paper award at the 22nd ITS World Congress, held from 5-9 October 2015 in Bordeaux, France. The world’s largest event in intelligent transport systems and services, this year’s congress focused on the theme of intelligent mobility and better use of space. 

Marcin presented his paper, “Signal phase and timing (SPaT) for cooperative public transport priority measures”, during a session on the topic “Solutions for Sustainable Mobility – Flow Monitoring and Management”. The awarded paper is part of the Cooperative Way to Mobility and Traffic Efficiency (MOBITRAFF) project which was financed by the National Research Fund (FNR).

Part of the Trusted Service Systems unit at LIST, Marcin’s research focuses on the application of cooperative intelligent transport systems for urban public transport. It includes topics related to bus priority measures, real-time travel information, and ticketing in public transport. Specific research activities include the use of connected vehicle technology and green light optimal speed advisory systems for improving the performance of public transport operations.
