With Luxinnovation, LIST is coordinating the "Important Project of Common European Interest" (ICPEI) launched by the Luxembourg government, in partnership with France, Italy and Spain, for the establishment of a European supercomputer.
Europe, in fact, only has one supercomputer ranked among the top 10 in the world, which is mostly dominated by China and the United States.
However, these data are crucial for a number of strategic sectors: finance, space, agriculture, manufacturing production, etc. They enable a whole series of applications to be developed, based on big data received in real time, and consequently enable European companies and research to remain competitive.
In all of these areas, Luxembourg wants to strengthen its industrial development and operational capabilities. To do this, and with the support of LIST and Luxinnovation, Luxembourg is coordinating the IPCEI initiative with French, Spanish and Italian partners with the primary objective of agreeing on a common road map for the development of such a project.
