From March 11 to 15, 2018, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) will participate in the 1st European Mass Spectrometry Conference (EMSC) 2018.

This conference incorporates the 37th Société Française de Spectrométrie de Masse (SFSM) and the 51st Deutsche Gesellschaft für Massenspektrometrie (DGMS) annual mass spectrometry conferences. For the first time, the SFSM and the DGMS will organize a joint conference on mass spectrometry and its applications.

This format is meant to be open for any Mass Spectrometry (MS) scientists worldwide from academia, government, industrial and non-profit research organizations, instrument vendors; as well as from the industry and the private sector, working on fundamental research, instrumentation, sample preparation, data processing and applied aspects of mass spectrometry. There will be a special focus on those from all over Europe as the conference is meant to augment efforts on national levels.

Full program will be available here, plenary speakers who already confirmed their participation are:

  • Alain van Dorsselaer (Wolfgang Paul Award), France, Ion mobility – Proteomics
  • Philippe Schmitt Kopplin, Germany, Complex matrix - Metabolomics
  • Zoltan Takats, UK, Ambient Ionization sources
  • Arnaud Delcorte, Belgium, Fundamentals in static SIMS
  • Thomas Kraemer, Switzerland, MS modern Forensic Toxicology
  • Gérard Hopfgartner, Switzerland, Hyphenated MS in pharma
  • Liam McDonnell, Italy, Mass spectrometry imaging
  • Saskia Van Ruth, Netherlands, Foodomics
