Coordinated by DIGITALEUROPE the co-funded European DS4Skills aims to deploy a European Skills Data Space through eight large, sustainable use cases, that tackle key challenges such as lifelong learning, employee retention, research on learning paths, upskilling, and reskilling.
These use cases are strategically designed to meet real-world workforce needs, demonstrating the value of the Skills Data Space in driving the digital transformation.
By uniting various stakeholders, use case orchestrators will rely on data space services to launch and manage their initiatives, fostering innovation and collaboration while ensuring that the solutions remain relevant and impactful.
Aligned with the European Data Strategy, DS4Skills emphasises the creation of a thriving data ecosystem that ensures privacy, security, and ethical standards. And by demonstrating the practical benefits of the skills data space will directly support the enhancement of digital skills, and the expansion of employment opportunities across Europe.
Through its network of 22 partners and use of case-driven services, DS4Skills is set to foster innovation, improve education and training policies, and support employment strategies across Europe, addressing immediate skill development needs and contributing to the EU's long-term strategic goals, ultimately promoting a skilled and adaptable workforce for the digital age.
Through DS4Skills, LIST relies and contributes to the European Skills Data Space by orchestrating a use case in Luxembourg that enable personalised learning pathways aligned with labour market needs. In partnership with Luxembourg key stakeholders - ADEM, INFPC, CNFPC, and DLH – LIST designs AI tools which aid both employment counsellors in identifying skill gaps and recommending relevant training to job seekers, and training providers in analysing industry-wide job postings to detect emerging skill needs and adapt their offerings accordingly to address those gaps.
With DS4Skills, LIST advances its mission as a Research and Technology Organisation by developing high-value, AI-driven prototypes such as skills annotation, skill gap analysis, and personalised training recommendations. Combining Generative AI and Reasoning, these services are designed to be transparent, explainable, and trustworthy, ensuring ethical and unbiased use of AI. By aligning workforce skills with labour market demands, LIST supports the creation of customised learning pathways that promote continuous upskilling, foster future-ready career development, and contribute to a more sustainable, resilient labour market.
