National Composite Centre - Luxembourg

LIST operates in its premises the National Composite Centre - Luxembourg (NCC-L).

This research and technology platform has been formed from the pooling of resources and skills in the field of composites amongst the key players in Luxembourg's private and public sectors. Composite materials are found, for example, in the automotive, aeronautics, electronics, telecommunications, sports, and medical sectors.

The aim of the NCC-L is to leverage development and processing of innovative composite materials in Luxembourg.

Key objectives of the NCC-L are:

  • to be the hub of Luxembourg’s efforts to develop and implement composite manufacturing technologies.
  • to set-up research infrastructure and competences in the field of composite materials in Luxembourg
  • to focus on independent RDI including collaborative research, knowledge and technology transfer, primarily for national industry.
  • to host and manage joint laboratories with industries.

Together with manufacturers, it will lead research and innovation projects to develop pre-commercial industrial applications. The NCC-L will ultimately involve some 50 people when fully operational. It will be equally funded by public and private funds.
