Context

 

The main objective of the project is to develop a Business Decision Support System (BDSS) to support the complex decision process involved in the selection and design of composite materials and processes. To complement our project team, we are looking for a highly-motivated researcher with a documented track record in the field of applied mathematics and software engineering and a desire to do interdisciplinary research and work in international environment.

 

Description

 

The research work will focus on the integration and innovative development of a Multi-Disciplinary Optimization (MDO) framework. Such an approach and methodology will account for the performance of the selected composite materials while also combining tools to estimate the profitability of the designed product. The selected candidate will also contribute to the development of techniques for efficient exploration of multi-level design spaces using a Bayesian Network Classifier (BNC) and to develop uncertainty management techniques.

Education

  • PhD in applied mathematics and/or software engineering

Competencies

  • Extensive competences in numerical optimization and uncertainty management as well as programming skills (in, PYTHON, C++, or any equivalent programming language) is required
  • Knowledge of ModeFrontier is appreciated
  • These developments will be implemented on three industrial applications. The research will be carried out at the Material Research Department under the supervision of two senior scientists.
