The successful applicant should develop a browser-based information system for Luxembourgish water bodies which originates from collaborative work between the Geocomputation and Agro- environmental Systems groups.
There is existing code written in Python and GRASS GIS to extract characteristic indicators from several spatial data sets per location on a river stretch. The trainee should understand the existing algorithm and be able to modify it. The main task would be the development of an interactive web-based interface. Finally, an API or RESTful service could be developed on top of it to offer as a service interface.
