You will be part of the LIST IT for Innovative Services department

The IT for Innovative Services (ITIS) department, with its 100 researchers and engineers, focuses on the digital transformation of operations in organizations with traditional environments and digital ecosystems, with the aim of improving their performance and innovation capacity. The common thread throughout ITIS is to develop the most efficient use of big data to ensure the most appropriate decision-making processes.

The department relies on the Data Analytics Platform: a hybrid infrastructure covering the entire range of data analytics activities. The platform is based on three pillars: a high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure, a cognitive analytics pillar and an interactive visualization wall (Viswall).




The SECURE and SPG research groups in the TSS unit of the “IT for Innovative Services” (ITIS) department of LIST, is looking for a part-time working student, to support researchers working on the topic of privacy-friendly information system design.

The task of the student is to assist researchers in the TSS/SECURE and TSS/SPG groups with the development of a tool to realise the privacy-by-design concept. The tool is expected to support the modelling (I.e. data flow diagram, technical components) and description of an information system (e.g. functional and non-functional requirements, architecture). On this basis, the tool further analyses the privacy requirements and performs a privacy friendliness assessment for any given system design. At the end, the tool will provide recommendations on how to choose Privacy Enhancing Technologies and indicate the corresponding privacy guarantees.



  • Student in Master of Computer Science or Engineering Sciences, or in an Engineering School, including teaching related to system’s quality requirements, privacy enhancing technology, system’s architectures
  • Strong will to work in the research and innovation domain
  • Experience with system development methodologies
  • Knowledge in Privacy and associate technologies
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
  • Good command of either French, German or Luxemburgish is an asset
