Context

 

With a team of more than 100 highly skilled researchers and engineers from various disciplines, the ITIS Department addresses the technological, organizational, human and economic aspects of innovative IT services. Research areas are based around the innovation of services with a high level of information intensity and a level of quality allowing trust to be gained in their use and value to be generated around new business models.

The successful candidate will actively contribute to the research and technological activities in an interdisciplinary research unit, BART (Business Analytics and Regulatory Technology).

With a team of around ten researchers with multidisciplinary background, the unit conducts applied research work on the topics such as data-driven digital transformation, Industry 4.0, Fintech, applied machine learning, advanced analytics and explainable AI. All projects are carried out in close partnership with the industry, finance and manufacturing being the two prominent ones.  

 

Description

 

As an intern at the BART unit, you will work in closely with a team of researchers on an ongoing funded project in digital transformation for manufacturing.

You can choose to work on one of the two tracks – applied machine learning or big data architecture. You will be expected to review state of the art techniques, investigate novel ones, build proof of concepts and effectively communicate your findings. You will receive valuable mentorship and support throughout the course of your work.

This internship position is an incredible opportunity to acquire significant knowledge in the field of AI applied to real-world use cases.   • Applied AI Internship

Competencies

  • Good knowledge of Python/ R
  • Have a strong interest in data science
  • Good understanding of statistical concepts, machine learning algorithms, optimization techniques and data visualization techniques
  • Knowledge of big data tools and frameworks like Spark is considered a plus
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure is considered a plus
