The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is appointing an experienced R&T Associate for the RDI Unit “Trusted Service Systems (TSS) “, which is part of the “IT for Innovative Services” (ITIS) Department.
The TSS unit is a multidisciplinary team performing applied research in the field of building trustworthy service systems (e.g. logistics and supply chain management) from the perspectives of big data, optimization, and security protection. The successful candidate will join the “Security, Privacy and Resilient Critical Infrastructure” research group, which focusses on the security, privacy and risk management issues for information and service systems, with a special focus on critical infrastructures.

The aim of the research activities associated to the open position is to develop solutions in the field of cybersecurity as well as data privacy and to join our efforts in elaborating innovative methods and associated software tools. The actual solutions require strong IT security and software engineering skills as well as of data analytics competences allowing to turn streams of activity data into predictive and optimised models.




LIST is seeking an experienced R&T Associate who will work in security related research projects. He/she will have to write and submit research proposals for national and international competitive funding. To that respect, he/she shall demonstrate a proven track record of funded proposals, ideally from European programs like H2020.

The candidate will also be in charge of disseminating, valorising and transferring RDI results (patents, licenses, prototypes, publications, technical reports, participation in conferences).





  • PhD degree in Computer Science, with a focus on Cybersecurity, IT Security and Privacy.


  • Minimum 10-year RDI experience after the completion of PhD.
  • Experience in the writing of large and/or EU projects in the domain of cybersecurity, as well as in the management of those projects.
  • Strong experience in one or more of the following topics related to Cybersecurity: Critical Infrastructures; Cloud Computing; IoT; Trusted Systems; SIEM; Security assurance and assessment; Mathematical modelling; Multiple criteria decision analysis (MCDA); Monitoring.
  • Show knowledge and interest with regard to the following topics: Blockchain; Applied Cryptography; Privacy Preserving and Enhancing Techniques; Data Mining, Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning; Security Management; Risk Management; IT Compliance with Standards, Best Practices and Laws; Legal and regulatory requirements on data privacy (e.g. GDPR).
  • Be used to set-up new academic and industrial collaborations
  • Sound experience in valorising scientific and technological results

  • Capacity to generate new ideas, concepts, and solutions
  • Ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
