Waste heat recovery and valorisation in industrial processes

Several industrial and manufacturing processes generate significant amounts of heat as by products. Giving value to this extra heat, that would otherwise be wasted, can result in enormous gains in terms of energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, reduced environmental impact, and more sustainable industrial operations. The captured heat – using heat exchangers, cogeneration systems, or other technologies - may be redirected towards other industrial processes or put to better use, such as generating electricity or heating buildings and water systems.

The aim of this workshop organised by Luxinnovation is to provide a comprehensive overview of waste heat, its value and sources, and the potential for recovery in industrial settings. It will include:

  • A visit to a production facility equipped with a waste heat recovery system
  • Expert presentations by local actors (case studies of waste heat installations, insights on suitable equipment for manufacturers, funding opportunities available to Luxembourg companies, and more)
  • A networking lunch to meet potential partners
