LCM2017 post-event book “Designing Sustainable Technologies, Products and Policies” - A success

Published on 24/07/2018

The 8th International Conference on Life Cycle Management (LCM2017) took place on 3 – 6 September 2017 at the European Convention Center Luxembourg. The post-event LCM2017 handbook was recently published and is already a great success!

LCM2017, a three-day conference under the theme "Designing sustainable technologies, products and policies: from science to innovation", attracted no fewer than 730 participants from 46 countries, mainly international scientists and industrial practitioners of life cycle assessment (LCA, a standardised method for quantifying the cradle-to-grave environmental impact of a product or technology), ecodesign and circular economy. The conference was chaired by LIST in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg in the framework of the LCM Conference Series. ArcelorMittal, supported the event organisation as industrial co-chair. More info about the conference feedback

In this context, the book collecting the best contributions to LCM2017 and the main outcomes from the different scientific sessions, in the form of short R&D papers, was recently published by Springer under an open access CC BY license. The work was edited by Enrico Benetto (LIST), Kilian Gericke (University of Luxembourg) and Mélanie Guiton (LIST) and provides the latest insight into the implementation of Life Cycle approaches along the entire business value chain. The assessment of the environmental, social and economic sustainability of industrial technologies, products, services and policies is advanced in the field of smart agriculture, smart mobility, urban infrastructures and energy for the built environment.

In less than three weeks after its publication, the open access hand book funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) has already been downloaded more than 18.6K times on link.springer.com
