The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) recently participated in the 23rd edition of the ICE/IEEE International Technology Management Conference that took place in Madeira Island (PT) on 27-29 June 2017. On day 1, Prof. Yacine Rezgui (Cardiff University, UK) together with Dr. Sylvain Kubicki (LIST) co-chaired a special session during ICE Conference. The five papers that were presented addressed challenging topics on Building Energy and Integration in Smart Cities, dealing with building users behaviors, smart energy, planning and energy simulation at building and district scale as well as measurement of smart city services performance.

First results from 4DCollab project, in relationship with the Smart Construction Planner prototype, were also published and presented in a special session on “Smart and interconnected built environment”.

LIST agenda is clearly addressing the challenges faced by Luxembourg and the European Union in relation with energy and sustainability at both building and district scales. In particular, the development of technologies enabling intelligent design and operation of built facilities is a cross-disciplinary topic developed through national and European research and innovation projects.
