LIST and CEBI extend National Characterization and Testing Platform partnership

Published on 02/09/2025

Following three years of fruitful collaboration, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and the Luxembourg-based industrial group CEBI have renewed their partnership under the National Characterization and Testing Platform initiative, and have extended their agreement for another five years. Launched in 2022, the initiative combines CEBI’s state-of-the-art industrial lab with LIST’s advanced research capabilities.

CEBI’s laboratory, which was Inaugurated in 2021, is equipped to carry out a wide range of tests, including materials analysis, mechanical and environmental testing, as well as climatic and electromagnetic compatibility assessments. Thanks to long-standing expertise and know-how, the lab can also design customized testing setups to meet specific needs.

On the research side, LIST’s Advanced Analyses and Support (ADVANS) unit plays a complementary role by providing a wide range of state-of-the-art instruments to study elemental and molecular compositions, identify material structures, investigate causes of failure or defects, and conduct mechanical, accelerated aging, and endurance tests.

The renewed agreement is seen by both partners as a strategic investment to provide a unique framework that offers comprehensive materials characterization and testing services for Luxembourg and beyond.
