On 11-15 March 2018, as part of its activities in life-cycle sustainability and risk assessment, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) participated in the Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting  (SOT2018) in San Antonio (Texas, USA).

The institute was represented by LIST researchers specialised in environmental health, Dr. Tommaso Serchi and Dr. Arno Gutleb and took part in the 57th edition of the largest toxicology conference.

There were more than 6000 participants at SOT2018 and close to 400 companies and RTOs represented at the trade fair. Dr Serchi and Dr Gutled presented a poster on an in vitro model to identify respiratory sensitizers, one of the largest problems in the field of chemical regulation, that drew a lot of attention from academia and industry.

LIST’s research group in environmental health is meanwhile well known for its advanced cell culture models which have already resulted in industrial collaborations. Participating in this event was a great opportunity for the institute to meet and discuss with peers, and also to present LIST’s activities in the field.
