LIST puts circular economy to the forefront at the Libramont fair

Published on 03/08/2017

From 28 to 31 July, LIST was present, through its Environmental Research and Innovation (ERIN) department, at the Libramont Fair 2017. LIST highlighted its activities in the field of bioprocess engineering, with a special emphasis on biomethanisation coupled with innovative recycling of fertilizing resources in agriculture.

The potential of biogas plants to regulate and store green electricity production was also presented, in the form of a pilot simulating the bioconversion of hydrogen from photovoltaic and wind generating plants for the injection of biomethane into the Natural gas network.

LIST activities in this area are aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture and are therefore relevant to the main theme of the 2017 Fair: "Growing Climate".

The institute's stand also highlighted the PERSEPHONE project, INTERREG V-A, whose main objective is to position biomethanisation in the bioeconomy and the circular economy. LIST contributes to it alongside five other scientific partners, as well as industrialists and actors in the field.

Visitors to the stand were numerous, a success that is confirmed year after year. The appointment is already made for next year!
