LIST speaks about Green Space in Urban Areas

On 21 March 2018, in the scope of its activities in Environmental Research and Innovation (ERIN), the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) participated in the seminar Green Space in Urban Areas held in the "Black Box" of the University of Luxembourg - Belval Campus (LU).

LIST was represented by Dr. Jürgen Junk who participated as keynote speaker in this second edition of the seminar organised by the ProSud Trade Union in collaboration with LIST, the Ministry of InteriorImapct Lab S.à r.l., Zeyen+Bauman, Rheinland -Pfalz Kompetenzzentrum für Klimawandelfolgen, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, +ImpaKT Luxembourg S.à r.l. and the municipality of Schifflange.

Dr. Junk’s presentation focused on the “Ecosystem services of urban green spaces under present and future climate conditions”. He introduced the concept of urban green, while giving deep insights about the benefits of green ecosystems for humans, and more specifically in Luxembourg. View the presentation on prosud.lu.

Around 60 participants attended the seminar and were informed and sensitized about topics such as: climate change, urban gardens, development plans, participation of citizens and circular economy. Numerous existing and planned good practices from the capital and from the southern region were also presented in the lectures.
