On June 14, 2017, the traditional visit to the agricultural test fields in Bettendorf, managed by the Lycée Technique Agricole in Ettelbruck and the Centrale Paysanne, took place in the presence of Fernand Etgen, Minister of Agriculture and Carole Dieschbourg, Minister of the Environment.
During the event, researchers from LIST specialising in crop protection had the opportunity to explain to the authorities and farmers present the project "Warning and advisory platform for the main pests and diseases in the major crops in Luxembourg" (SENTINELLE).
Marco Beyer presented the results for the year 2017 on diseases caused by parasitic fungi in cereal, focusing on the interannual variability of infections, while Michael Eickermann explained the results for insects affecting rapeseed.
It was a timely occasion for LIST to explain how its researchers's work can positively impact quality of life in Luxembourg.
