New projects selected by the Luxembourg National Research Fund

In the framework of the collaboration between the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), three projects have recently been selected. LIST is pleased to announce the retention of two of its projects in the 2018 – 1 FNR BRIDGES Call and the selection of one of its LIST postdoc projects in the 2018-1 FNR INDUSTRIAL FELLOWSHIPS Call.

BRIDGES programme

The BRIDGES programme (formerly CORE-PPP) provides financial support for industry partnerships between public research institutions in Luxembourg and national or international companies.

  • The first LIST project retained in BRIDGES is “Smart Waste Collection Systems (SWAM)”, a collaboration between LIST and industry partner, Polygone S.à.r.l with Djamel Khadraoui, specialised in Information Technologies, its principal investigator. The total committed by the FNR is €309,702.
  • The second is “Combined approach for the spatial highly resolved, intra-day PV forecasting for smart distribution grid operation" (COMBI-CAST) in collaboration with industry partners Hoffmann Frères S.à.r.l. et Cie s.e.c.s. / ELECTRIS with Daniel Koster specialised in environmental research, the principal investigator. The total amount committed by the FNR is €305,534.

Industrial fellowships programme

In another Call, the FNR 2018-1 INDUSTRIAL FELLOWSHIPS CALL, newly arrived postdoc in the environmental domain, Claudio Petucco, received funding for his “MULTIfunctional SILViculture environmental and economic Assessment tool (MULTISILVA)” project in collaboration with industry partner Luxplan S.A. The aim of the Industrial Fellowships programme (formerly AFR-PPP) is to foster the cooperation between Luxembourg based companies active in R&D and public research institutions in Luxembourg and/or abroad.
