Showcasing LIST technology to Luxembourg University students

Published on 21/12/2017

On 15 December 2017, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) welcomed students from the University of Luxembourg for a visit of LIST’s technology showroom at the Maison de l’Innovation in Esch-Belval.

LIST’s experts in the domains of materials, environment and IT introduced to the early-career researchers the different demonstrators. In this way, a multi-theme tour was offered to participants who showed a great interest in the institute’s activities and asked lots of questions related to the different technologies developed at LIST. Participants were more than visitors as they follow courses focusing on biology at the University of Luxembourg. In the framework of the ongoing collaboration between LIST and the university, Dr Jean-François Hausman - who is in charge of the Plan cell wall integrative biology research group at the institute – provides courses to these passionate students.

Discovering LIST’s showroom was a great opportunity for them for moving beyond theory into concrete applications, all taking place in a friendly atmosphere. The students could also discover more about what being a researcher means, an important aspect to be taken into consideration for their future career development.
