Published on 28/06/2017

On 19-23 June 2017, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) hosted the 3rd European Tangible Interaction Studio (ETIS).  ETIS 2017 took place in the Greater Region of Luxembourg, and was organised by LIST and Saarland University.

Four invited talks, three demonstrations, six workshops/prototyping sessions and eight presentations as well as a lot of social events were part of the fully booked programme that the participants followed during ETIS 2017. ETIS Studio 2017 brought together 36 participants in total. 13 participants were from Luxembourg, 10 from France, 8 from Germany, while there were also 2 participants from the U.K., 2 from Switzerland, and 1 from the USA.

Several aspects of tangible interaction were covered, such as Internet of Things and prototyping, 3D interfaces, mixed and augmented reality, as well as overall design implications and representations, and evaluation of tangible interaction in different domains.

On Thursday, 20 June, LIST had a demonstration of its Decisional Knowlegde Dynamics Lab including our Tangible User Interfaces and various complex problem solving scenarios as well as of the “war room”, a collaborative work space where another tangible interface and visual management tools, display the several planning levels integrated into a construction management project.

ETIS has published CEUR workshop proceedings that can be downloaded online. To get more information on ETIS, visit the event page and the dedicated website: etis2017.lu to stay up-to-date with the next edition!
