When Poland meets Luxembourg RTO

Published on 02/10/2017

On 28 September 2017, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) hosted a delegation from Poland at its premises in Belvaux.

The Polish delegation was composed of companies and research organisations from the spatial sector and was welcomed by Prof. Jens Kreisel, director of our Materials Research Technologies (MRT) department and Dr Lucien Hoffmann, director of Environmental Research and Innovation (ERIN) department.

LIST opened its door to the Polish delegation in order to introduce the institute and its activities in the fields of environment and materials, specifically related to space technology and space-enabled applications.  The delegation visited MRT’s and ERIN’S scientific and technology infrastructures, where the two departments conduct namely numerous projects with the European Space Agency (ESA).

During the visit, the topics of materials for sensors in space and scientific instrumentation for chemical analysis have attracted a particular attention. Potential collaborations were moreover discussed in the domain of flood management and in the development of collaborative ground segments for Sentinel data
