Description

We demonstrate the first multi-point measurement of flow velocity at multiple locations utilizing single-shot coherent Rayleigh Brillouin scattering (CRBS). The measurements are performed simultaneously in the boundary layer created over an airfoil test article in a custom built open circuit wind tunnel. The axial flow velocity component is measured over multiple points along the height of the airfoil. Measuring the Doppler-shifted CRBS spectra observed in flow versus stagnant conditions allows for the determination of the velocity components of interest. Finally, the measurement results are validated with computational fluid dynamic simulations of the flow in the wind tunnel.
