Contexte

 

Proteomics for precision or personalised medicine applications requires the development of an effective screening instrument capable of detecting proteins at low concentrations. The ElectroMed project's objective is to build and validate a proof-of-concept prototype of a programmable high-throughput peptide microarray. It is based on integrating electrochemical synthesis of peptide bio-receptors with nano-functionalised Field Effect Transistor (FET) sensors for high-performance data acquisition within a microfluidic-driven multiplexed platform for parallel screening.

 

Description

 

The ElectroMed project is carried out by several European partners each with their own responsibility and work package. One of the tasks is the development of a micro-reactor for the synthesis of peptides. The chemistry and the control microfluidics to be implemented will be carried out together with two of the project partners respectively.

It is your job to fabricate an electrochemical micro-reactor implementing new materials. Additionally, after validation, you will develop multiplexing of the synthesis and subsequently fabricate the multiplexed reactor chips resulting in a prototype to be validated in laboratory-relevant conditions

 


Profil

 

Education

  • PhD in electrochemistry, organic chemistry, or equivalents

Required seniority

  • PhD is necessary, experience on microfluidics will be appreciated

Competencies

  • Sound basis of electrochemistry, electrode modification and surface characterisation
  • Surface functionalisation of inorganic substrates such as silicon, glass and gold
  • Organic chemistry: peptide chemistry
  • Experience in microfabrication in clean room setting will be considered a plus

Language

  • Fluency in spoken and written English communication skills is necessary
  • French language skills would be a plus
