As a key player in research and innovation in Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), with its employees, is active in the domains of materials, the environment and IT. As an RTO (Research and Technology Organisation) and with its interdisciplinary impact-driven approach, LIST contributes to the development of Luxembourg’s economy and society. The Materials Research and Technology Department (MRT) translates cutting-edge materials research into applicable technology, with about 190 collaborators. For this, the department cultivates close relationships and joint projects with both academic and industrial partners, and contributes to Luxembourg's and Europe's innovation agenda in Materials Research and Technology. The Plasma Process Engineering (PPE) group within the Scientific Instrumentation and Process Technology (SIPT) unit of the MRT department focuses its research on prototyping, upscaling and process development for organic, inorganic and hybrid functional coatings using chemical and physical deposition techniques from the gas phase.
Energy harvesting from the surrounding is an appealing technology to power sensors, actuators and communication devices, which is an important milestone towards the IoT concept. The current post-doc position subscribes within the SANS4NCC project in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg and targeting the development and investigation of nanocomposite coatings with a strong magneto-electric coupling. The development at LIST concerns the design, realization, characterization, and performance evaluation of responsive magneto-electric nanocomposite coatings. This type of coatings is a relevant building block of various multifunctional devices.
We seek a post-doc fellow with a multidisciplinary background and interest to cover various aspects of the project:
