LSBC selected for a b2fair Business award for constant support on collaboration

Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has developed a B2B platform b2fair in which matchmaking events are combined with fairs and in newer versions, also other forms of contact. LSBC has been since 2014 official partner for Slovenia. The idea is for SMEs to consult and choose from the online catalogue containing detailed company profiles with their cooperation wishes, have the face-to-face meetings withthe chosen companies and thus develop their international business cooperation.

The functioning of such meetings (b2fair generation 5.0, as the organisers called it) has been staged by the participants to the round table. Each gave a one-minute peach to present their activity and opportunities for cooperation. At the end of that part of the programme, the participants offered their advice to the SMEs looking to move into international business. To summarize, they suggested for the companies to prepare themselves well, to certify their products with internationally acclaimed institutions, to make use of subsidies and financial aids to cope with exchange rate fluctuations, to attend international fairs and connect with organisations such as chambers of commerce for support and mentoring.

The event on July 10 2019 marking the 15h anniversary of the b2fair  platform has been introduced by the Director General of the Chamber of Commerce M Carlo Thielen and followed by the academic session in which the attendees could follow the thoughts of His Excellency Pierre Gramegna,  the Minister of Finance of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, M Jean-Luc Demarty, a counsellor to the General Secretariat and the former Director General for Trade at the European Commission, and Prof. Gabrielle Marceau, Counsellor at the Legal Division of the WTO.

Following the conclusion of the event by Ms. Sabrina Sagramola, the Head of Management Board b2fair and the mastermind behind the concept, the attendees moved to the venue where the award ceremony was performed.

Luxembourg-Slovenian Business Club was among the selected award winners for the partnership established between LIST, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology and Slovenian company Synergise (who also received an award) for constant support for this collaboration.

Both awards have been received by the Honorary Consul of Slovenia to the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg Mr. Roland Streber.
