LIST at AAL Forum 2018

Presenting MAESTRO project

On 24-26 September 2018, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) will participate in the 10th Active and Assisted Living (AAL) Forum in Bilbao (ES), providing a welcome opportunity to highlight LIST's research project MAESTRO.

About MAESTRO

The project "Sustainable Reference Framework evaluating quantified-self equipment and services for seniors" (MAESTRO) is developing a reference assessment framework which will allow manufacturers of health and well-being systems to evaluate their products and services from a senior-centered perspective, and improve their quality and usefulness accordingly. It also develops a web-based ICT platform which can provide documented advice as well as the possibility to post usage-based comments regarding such products and services, in the specific context of well-being and health for seniors and their helpers.

The research project will notably address the lack of a method to measure the quality of connected health monitoring systems by providing stakeholders with a reference framework, comprising a dynamic database, explicit seniors-centered indicators and metrics, and a multi-standard methodology, so as to eventually certify their products and services regarding their respect of senior-sensitive criteria. This project also aims at helping harmonize and enhance, altogether, the international development and production of presumably smart and connected monitoring systems for seniors’ health and well-being.

Coordinated by LIST, MAESTRO is funded by the European Commission's Active and Assisted Living Joint Programme (AAL JP), the project brings together partners from Luxembourg (LIST), Switzerland (Coherent Streams, DomoSafety), Italy (CNR- Institute for Cognitive Science and Technology, I-Più Srl) and Ireland (Dundalk institute of technology, STATSports).

ABOUT AAL FORUM

The AAL Forum is Europe's premier event in the field of active ageing, this year showing off an array of impressive technology under the theme of “Ageing well in the digital age: A growing community of change makers.”.
