Workshop "Machine learning-based enhancements of security-constrained optimal power flow computations"

FNR INTER project ML4SCOPF

The intermediate workshop of the project ML4SCOPF (Machine learning-based enhancements of security-constrained optimal power flow computations), funded jointly by FNR and FNRS, focuses on the hurdles of the energy transition toward renewable-dominated electricity supply and the role of machine learning methods to support this transition.

The workshop is organized in two modules, the first being devoted to pure power grid issues to be overcome during the energy transition while the second focusing on machine learning challenges and applications in support to the energy transition.

Objectifs

The workshop has two objectives:

  • to disseminate the project progress so far,
  • to learn from the keynote talks of leading researchers in the areas of electric energy systems and machine learning.
