National OpenAIRE conference

On 26 October 2017 will take place the first edition of the National OpenAIRE conference, organised by the University of Luxembourg and OpenAIRE in partnership with the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER), Max Planck Institute (MPI), LuxDoc and EURAXESS.

The event will start at 14:30 on 26 October 2017 and will be held at La Maison du Savoir, Belval Campus (LU).

The National OpenAIRE is open to the whole research community in Luxembourg. Research is becoming progressively more open, transparent and accessible to society. Open Science is all about making publications free to access (Open Access), rendering data and code available to re-use and share (Open Data, Open Source) and changing towards more transparent and collaborative practices.

On the agenda 

  • Prof. Lennart Martens (Ghent University, Belgium) willl make an oral presentation on the benefits from Open Science.
  • Prof. Conchita D'Ambrosio (University of Luxembourg) will give the audience insights on its link with society and how we may be "Open in order to … fight inequality".
  • The talks will be followed by an opportunity to discuss, debate and social network around a stand-up dinner.
