OASIS Intermediate workshop

On 28 January 2016, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) organizes an intermediate workshop focusing on the research project OASIS (Optimization based integrated process modelling-LCA: application to potable water production). It will take place at LIST's premises in Belvaux.

The workshop is divided in two sections:

  • The morning session will host two invited speakers. The first of these talks will present a rigorous framework for the development of more sustainable processes integrating LCA principles with multi-objective optimization, dealing in particular with large-scale optimization problems. The second talk will extend the application domain from potable water to wastewater treatment chains.
  • The afternoon session will present the current results of the project OASIS with a first feedback of the project team.

About the project

OASIS - a project supported by the National Research Fund, Luxembourg - aims at coupling LCA with optimization algorithms automatically seeking the best design alternative (in the realm of technically and economically feasible solutions) according to predefined environmental criteria.
