Publié le 12/10/2017

On 5-6 October 2017, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) together with the Universitat Oberta De Catalunya (UOC) organised the 2017 international Technology Enhanced Assessment Conference (TEA 2017) in Barcelona (ES).

The international TEA is a unique two-day research-led conference connecting researchers, practitioners and policy makers to address current challenges and advances in the field of assessment process (e-assessment). TEA 2017 aimed to advance the understanding and application of information technology to the e-assessmen) through peer-reviewed contributions from the research and practice sector.

More than 40 participants took part in the 20th TEA2017. The subjects were varied and centered on Security in e-assessment, Engagement, Proctor, etc. The participants also had the opportunity to listen to two keynotes focusing on the following topics: “Contributions of computational thinking and creative computing to the design of e-assessment” and “Innovative eLearning strategies to Augment Student engagement”.

More and more companies and universities are expressing their interest in the e-assessment topic, and it has been noticed both during the conference and especially during the various discussions. The opinion that emerged is that more automatisation is required in automatic test generation and adaptive feedback, as well as in the automatic generation of a results report.

In this framework, LIST is involved in various scientific research topics concerning the automatic item generation (AIG), technology-based competency self-assessment tool that automatically generates assessments from job descriptions or competency profiles (Cross Skill) and designs a collaborative problem-solving task in the context of urban planning

The details of the next TEA conference will be communicated soon.
