CEBIT 2018: LIST at the heart of digitization world

Publié le 27/06/2018

On 11-15 June 2018, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) participated in the 2018 edition of CEBIT among the largest and most internationally represented IT fair in the world, that took place in Hannover (DE).

CEBIT 2018 has adapted its conference format for a new time. Digitization is changing the economy, politics, society, and culture: it is changing how we live and how we do business. In this context, LIST participated in the main Luxembourg Pavilion that was organised by the Chamber of Commerce

The Institute highlighted some of its activities in IT, with a more specific focus on the project « Sustainable, Environmental & Safe tourism in protected areas » (SENSA2). SENSA2 was born with the ambitious objective to increase revenues for protected areas through tourism while ensuring conservation of these unique and still preserved areas.
The platform, developed with the funding support of the European Space Agency (ESA), will secure tourists visiting national parks in South of Africa by linking the tourists to the parks authorities and rescue team in case of accident, with the use of satellite communication when WIFI and 3G are not available.

LIST’s participation in CEBIT 2018 made the Institute visible internationally in the hall 7 dedicated to research & innovation and hosting other important Research and Technology Organizations (RTO) such as Fraunhofer (DE), the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), as well as other national or international representations.
