eHealth the focus at Med-e-Tel

Publié le 29/04/2015

From April 22-24, 2015, LIST researchers took part in the 13th edition of Med-e-Tel, the International eHealth, Telemedicine and Health ICT Forum For Education, Networking and Business. This international event, organised in Luxembourg by the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISfTeH), has once again allowed LIST to present its activities in the healthcare sector.

Researchers shared their expertise and skills with the international audience that attended the conferences scheduled over the 3 days, in particular:

  • the national pseudonymisation service of Luxembourg developed by LIST researchers, put in place by the eHealth Agency in the national eHealth platform and used by the Integrated BioBank of Luxembourg (IBBL),
  • their common experience and know-how regarding the integration of the GECAMed software into the myDSP service included in this platform, following interoperability profiles developed by Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE). IHE is an international initiative by healthcare professionals and industry, including LIST and the eHealth Agency, to improve the way computer systems in healthcare share information.

Researchers and engineers from the IT for Innovative Services (ITIS) department also highlighted two of their national and European projects conducted with the eHealth Agency at their stands:

  • GECAMed eSanté, a project that aims at integrating the GECAMed medical office management software, developed by LIST researchers, into the national eHealth platform launched by the eHealth Agency
  • eSens, a European project aiming at simplifying the public sector's cross-border electronic exchanges, in particular access to the medical records of a patient while they are on holiday abroad. In parallel with the Med-e-Tel conference, the GECAMed team also participated in the IHE-Europe Connectathon lien vers autre article. The certification of IHE compliance received during this annual event confirms that their software meets the stringent interoperability criteria on security and data exchange at a level of international standard.
