On Friday, April 2nd, 2015, representatives of the Luxembourg Institute of Science & Technology’s (LIST) Valortech project welcomed a group of university students to the Valortech bioenergy installation in Friidhaff, Diekirch. Dr. Silvia Venditti and Daniel Koster from LIST’s Environmental Research & Innovation (ERIN) department joined the company Soil-Concept to present the installation to the enthusiastic students of Prof. Joachim Hansen’s course on Sustainable use of Water and Resources, offered jointly by the University of Luxembourg and the University of Arlon.

Valortech’s installation, operated by project partner Soil-Concept, produces energy from waste products. It is used as a demonstration of Valortech’s concept of polygeneration which focuses on using waste products with low heating value including sewage sludge from wastewater treatment plants, wood chips and other green waste.
