On Friday, 24 February, the Russian Embassy in Luxembourg officially awarded National Composite Center - Luxembourg Director Philippe Dubois the Semenov Medal.

During the ceremony, the Russian Ambassador, Viktor Sorokin, underlined that the award of this medal to Prof Dubois is a sign that “the scientific cooperation between Russia and Luxembourg is developing successfully”.

Philippe Dubois underlined that "receiving such a prize from the Russian Academy of Engineering Sciences is a great honour." The Director of NCC-L also stressed "appreciating the contribution of his Russian counterparts in the development of science, technology and materials".

The Semenov medal is named after Nikolai Nikolayevich Semenov (1896-1986), one of the founders of physical chemistry, creator of polymer theory and author of works on chemical kinetics, awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1956. The Semenov medal can be handed over to a Russian or foreign scientist or engineer who has made a major contribution to the development of physical and chemical sciences, chemical engineering, materials and manufacturing.
