The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) took part in the 13th Portes Ouvertes Luxembourg open days event, organized by Brain&More, which took place on the weekend of 15 and 16 September. Along with 25 other Luxembourgish companies, LIST opened up 2 of its 4 sites on Sunday to reveal just some of its activities.
LIST had the pleasure of welcoming over 200 visitors to the Maison de l’Innovation, at the heart of the Belval Innovation Campus in Esch-Belval, and to one of its laboratories in Belvaux.
Between the technological showroom, recently revealed to the public as part of the Fête des Hauts-Fourneaux festival, guided tours of the laboratories and engaging workshops based on LIST’s research, visitors were able to get an insight into Luxembourgish research. With activities designed and planned for all ages, LIST researchers were able to educate both young and older visitors about their scientific research and day-to-day work.
>> LIST is already planning to repeat the experience in 2020 – see you in two years' time!
About 50 visitors, who went to the two sites open for the occasion, tested their newly acquired knowledge thanks to the competition organized by LIST.
Congratulations to Mr Cédric Faivre from Luxembourg, who won a 360° camera.
As part of a day to find out about the economy of the future, for the first time LIST will open the doors of its laboratories, opened in Foetz in 2016, where researchers work on material testing.
Come to Foetz on Saturday 29 September from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.to discover the large-scale mechanical testing, and ageing and fire-resistance testing laboratories! For more information on this event, please see the dedicated page.
