LIST presents its template for inventory of materials

Published on 21/06/2019

In accordance with the Luxembourg law of 21 March 2012 on waste management, prior to any demolition, the materials used in a building scheduled to be destroyed have to be identified and listed in an inventory, which must be shown to the Luxembourg Environment Agency (AEV) on request.

As a result, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), in partnership with the AEV, has developed a template for inventory of materials to help those involved in the planning, performance and documentation of deconstruction works comply with their legal obligations.

This template was presented to some fifty engineers and architects during two information sessions (one in French on 11 June and the other in German on 13 June) organised by LIST, in partnership with the Luxembourg Order of Architects and Consulting Engineers (OAI), the National Council for Sustainable Construction (CNCD) and the AEV.

Following a brief overview of waste management legislation for demolition activities, Christina Ehlert from LIST presented the procedure for drawing up an inventory of materials prior to demolition of a building, in accordance with the template and guidelines that have been developed and which are available to download free of charge from the emwelt.lu portal.

For further information, the presentations from the information sessions are available to download from betrieber.emwelt.lu (French, German)
