Modern nanotechnology: EuroCVD22-Baltic16 conference a success

Published on 11/07/2019

280 participants took part in the 5-day international scientific conference “EuroCVD 22-BalticALD 16” organised by LIST on 24-28 June 2019 in Luxembourg Kirchberg at Luxexpo-TheBox.

"The conference has started in 1977, it is thus quite an old tradition and we have the chance this year to host it in Luxembourg…it is a very good recognition and I am really proud of that" said the scientific conference chair, Naoufal Bahlawane from LIST. As it has been apparent from the audience’s feedbacks, the emerging young CVD-ALD research community has been well represented this year in Luxembourg. The combination of experienced and young participants like PhDs contributed in making this event a great opportunity for intense exchange and development of joint discussions.

As one of the leading meetings for process and materials development, this conference has been a showcase of the forefront research addressing up-to-date challenges and state-of-the-art chemical processing from the gas phase (CVD, ALD, Energy-assisted CVD/ALD, MOVPE, RIE, ALE). The conference offered a high quality scientific programme with invited and contributed lectures in key development areas. Bahlawane also mentioned: "This year, we had a decent amount of people that are working in this field …it was a good chance to get a global overview about the progress in this fields in various places in the world, not only in Europe".

Two poster sessions and three tutorials, oral presentations and poster awards have also been organised. Participants could also enjoy a visit of Luxembourg during the week and a conference dinner on the Mosel river.
