LIST and IKO Group sign Partnership Agreement together

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and IKO Real Estate, a Luxembourg family-owned real estate active in the residential, office and commercial markets are pleased to announce their collaboration as part of a new Partnership Framework Agreement signed recently.

IKO is the first Luxembourg developer to draw up a sustainable development report certified by GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), the most widely used reporting standard in the world. The two parties will now focus on innovative solutions in Luxembourg and internationally with focus on the research and development of innovative projects and services in the domain of sustainable construction and urban planning.

The five main areas of emphasis for the agreement have already been defined as: smart building energy efficiency, digital twin monitoring, grey water management and reuse, construction logistics efficiency, sustainable construction and LCA (life cycle assessment) at urban level.

“This cooperation agreement will be a natural extension of work that LIST has been doing for years related to a sustainable built environment” said Lucien Hoffmann, director of the Environmental Research and Innovation department of LIST. “This agreement will expand our scope and allow us to collaborate closely with IKO to drive successful solutions to this urgent need.”

IKO Real Estate and LIST are perfectly matched for this agreement currently planned for a duration of five years.

IKO Real Estate is mainly specialised in real estate development projects and has great knowledge in innovative and sustainable projects for the well-being of building users and office building occupants. LIST has great expertise in water and wastewater management, sustainable urban and building environment, intelligent clean energy systems, and Life Cycle Assessment and eco-circularity.

IKO has the ability to experiment at real scale LIST innovative solutions and technologies in sustainable waste and water management systems or in eco circular demolition/building processes.

As part of the agreement R&D projects will be jointly submitted at a European and Luxembourg level.
