The IT for Innovative Services (ITIS) department conducts research to develop models, methods, software and devices for smart systems, fusing human and technological aspects. Its ambition is to build trust around services, to develop new services with a high level of informatics and to support the innovation of IT-based services. The ITIS department is home to 110 scientists and software engineers in three research units.

LIST’s cognitive environment lab enables the simulation of different environments with augmented or virtual reality and is equipped with a controlled experiment room with observation, actuation and feedback tools, such as AR/VR and tangible tables. Within the context of a national European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) project, LIST is in the throes of setting up a state-of-the-art data analytics platform allowing for Big Data exploitation with new advanced analytics components (Watson, SAP, etc.).
