Come and meet our researchers at the Science Festival 2021!

On 11-14 November 2021, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) will participate at the Science Festival, organised by The National Museum of Natural History (MNHN) and the National Research Fund (FNR) at the Neumünster Abbey Cultural Exchange Center in Luxembourg city.

On Thursday 11th and Friday 12th November, the Science Festival will open its doors to students at school in Luxembourg, then to the public during the weekend (November 13th and 14th).

The purpose of this event is to present and promote science and research in Luxembourg and to foster the interest of young people and the general public in science and technology, through interactive workshops, science-related shows and performances.

LIST researchers will be present this year on three booths:

"How to observe and modify the infinitely small?"

Smart materials are in vogue today in fields as diverse as medicine, electronics and energy.
Learn at stand 24, how smart materials can be created and their properties improved. Then perform your chemical and morphological analyses to better understand these materials.

"How do plants drink?"

In order to do photosynthesis, plants need water. They need to transport this water from deep down in the roots, all the way to their leaves. This requires a lot of suction power and a few tricks. Do you have the power of a plant? Find out at the Science Festival, stand 44!

"Collaborate on the planet Orbitia"

Collaborate at an interactive tabletop! Become a space-mining crew in the harsh environment of the distant planet Orbitia! Collect minerals and surmount obstacles together! Explore the serious game of the research project ORBIT at the stand 13

This third stand is organised in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg.
