The European Language Data Space (LDS) and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) are bringing together experts from the Language Data Industry, Public Administration and Research to discuss the importance and the challenges of language data for the development of Language Technologies and AI-based tools in Luxembourg.
LDS aims at building a trustworthy and effective data market for the exchange of language resources in the public and – even more importantly – in the private sector in line with the EU Data Strategy, which aims to make the EU a leader in a data-driven society. Data-driven innovation can bring major and concrete benefits, such as personalised medicine, improved mobility, better policymaking and upgrading public services.
The aim of this workshop is to discuss about the needs of Luxembourgish stakeholders, both from private and public sector language data with regards to data creation, collection, and sharing. Large language models (LLMs) are the most important breakthrough in AI in the last 15-20 years. In the workshop we will talk among others, about the power in human intelligence, NLP for low resource languages, bias in LLMs, and multilingual machine translation. In the workshop we will have four talks and two panels.
The workshop is open to everybody and is mainly addressed to data owners and data providers, LT developers and SMEs, as well as to public administration executives, officers and partners.
