Honey bees and wild pollinators, including bumblebees, mason bees, and hoverflies, play an essential role in food production by increasing the yield and quality of many crops. They also support biodiversity by enabling plants to reproduce and ecosystems to thrive. Protecting pollinators means protecting our environment, our food supply, and our future.
Based on the complementary expertise of the Agro-environmental Systems and Biodiversity Monitoring and Assessment groups, LIST’s booth will present research activities related to pollinator health, biodiversity monitoring, and environmental challenges affecting pollinators, including pesticide exposure, pathogens and parasites such as the Varroa mite, and invasive species such as the Asian hornet. Knowledge gained through our national and international research projects supports decision-makers, advisory services, and farmers’ associations in strengthening pollinator protection under changing environmental conditions.
Through collaboration with the Fédération des Unions d'Apiculteurs du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg (FUAL) as a project partner, practice-oriented research helps support the implementation of innovative solutions for beekeeping and pollinator protection.
Visitors are invited to explore our research activities, experience live demonstrations, and discover a range of interactive exhibits
Come meet us at the fair, at our booth located in the Pavilion, Bloc C !
