The Betriber&Emwelt platform, in collaboration with the Environment Agency (AEV) and Ecotrel, is organising a webinar on the implementation of the extended producer responsibility scheme specific to electrical and electronic equipment (EEE).
The placing of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE)on the market is subject to an extended producer responsibility system, which organizes the collection and recycling—or reuse—of waste EEE. When companies place EEE on the market, they must join this system, which entails legal obligations they must comply with.
The law of the 9th of June 2022 on waste of electrical and electronic equipment sets the legal framework for businesses which place such products on the market,and who have to comply to it. For electrical and electronic equipment considered as household EEEs, companies must comply by joining the Producer Responsibility Organisation Ecotrel asbl ; for others, they may choose between individual approval or joining this approved organization.
