The Horizon 2020-funded project “FULLy integrated analysis, design, manufacturing and healthmonitoring of COMPosite structures” (FullComp) has launched this month, with the kick-off meeting held on June 8th, 2015 at the Politecnico di Torino in Turin, Italy.
FullComp aims to create a multidisciplinary, intersectoral and international research training network for the composite materials sector, with an emphasis on close cooperation between academia and industry. Addressing the challenges that the sector faces in finding professionals with the appropriate skills in working with composite materials, which differ substantially from traditional metals, the project hopes to produce the next generation of top young talent in Europe.
Funded by the European Commission through the Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, which aims to deliver cross-border and cross-sector research training and career opportunities, the project will be carried out by multisectoral consortium comprising seven universities, one industrial manufacturer and one research institute, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), based in eight different countries.
